Descripció DETALLADA d'Hp4

Entrada Autor: HpConan »

JO NO ME L'HE LLEGIT. Estic encara amb el dubte de soi llegir-lo o no... V.V
No sé si prefreixo primer lelgir-m'ho, o trobar-m'ho tot de sorpresa en veure la pel·li...

Però us ho poso per si voleu llegir-vos-ho:

The film opens with the camera pushing in towards a series of skulls on what appears to be a tomb setting up that this will indeed be a darker picture.

From an opening in the tomb, Nagini slithers out and makes her way across the grass. We follow her until we find ourselves staring up at the Riddle family tombstone with the angel of death seen in various pictures. The camera tilts up towards the sky to show the main titles.

Lightning flashes and the Frank Bryce death scene plays out how it does in the book with a few minor changes. There is no mention of Bertha Jorkins, and now Barty Crouch Jr is in this scene. They do this I suppose so that the audience is aware of who he is from the get go.

From here we jump to Harry waking up at the burrow NOT the Dursley’s. As we found out earlier last year the Dursley’s were removed for time reasons.

From here we jump right to the group making their way to the portkey. This means no mention of Moody getting attacked, AND Bill, Percy, and Charlie are not in this move at all. Not even later on at the challenges.

As they make their way through the woods we meet Mr. Diggory and Cedric who has a rather bold entrance. I’m going to pause for a moment to say that I was surprised that while yes Cedric, Fleur, and Viktor are in the movie they say and do very little in the film. The portkey effect is great and works well without being a stunt sequence like I was worried they might try to make it.

They walk over a hill and find the camp where everyone is staying. Now in the book the Ministry is desperately trying to stop everyone from using magic but this clearly isn’t the case in the film. People are flying around on brooms and various other “magic gags” happen as the characters walk by.

They make their way into one tent versus the two (boys and girls) in the book. Harry has a cheesy line here that I won’t ruin. A deep gong announces the start of the match and the camera pans over the campsite to the stadium.

Gone is the solid gold stadium of the books and instead we see an almost subterranean structure with most of the seats are underground and the top box is level with the ground. It is impressive size wise though. They have kept the Malfoy/Weasley interactions in tact here with the exception of Narcissa Malfoy not being in the scene, only Draco and Lucius.

Fudge, not Bagman, welcomes everyone to the match as Bagman has also been cut from the story. Rather than using a sonorous charm he is merely holding his wand up to his throat. The introduction of the teams is brief only with Fudge announcing, “I give you Ireland!” and then fireworks go off to form a leprechaun, NOT actual leprechauns as in the book. Then the Bulgarians fly through the fireworks and send the Irish team scattering. The Veela aren’t in this either.

Fudge then says, “Let the Quidditch World Cup begin!” He shoots off a spark and we follow it up into the sky over the stadium where it explodes filling the screen with white light.

Then…We cut to the Weasley’s tent AFTER the match. We don’t get to see any of it. Start writing those angry letters now.

There are sounds of cheering outside and bangs of firecrackers and celebration when suddenly it turns to screams and loud bangs and Mr. Weasley forces them outside realizing something is wrong.

The scene that follows is chilling because of the death eaters. They look like a cross between the KKK and Satan worshipers. Quite well done when it comes to their look.

The gang all gets separated in the pandemonium and Harry gets knocked to the ground, glasses knocked off, and kicked unconscious. We see the camp burnt to cinders and then someone makes their way across the burnt out wreckage. It is Barty Crouch Jr who conjures the dark mark which looks incredible and actually scary. Definitely NOT what you would want to see over your house one night.

Harry wakes and sees someone but since he is missing his glasses he can’t make out who it is. Hermione and Ron come rushing over and Jr. runs off just as the Ministry officials arrive and send stunning spells every which way.

Arthur stops them and Crouch demands to know who cast the spell and Harry tells them what he saw. The House elves aren’t in the film either so no Dobby and no Winky.

We then cut to them on the train going to school. There is a cute moment with Harry and Cho on the train buying candy from the little witch with the trolley and a few bits of dialogue explaining what the dark mark was and why it is bad. Harry then writes a letter to Sirius.

The train arrives and the next shot is the carriage and ship arriving carrying the other school students. We jump to the great hall where Dumbledore is giving his speech when Filch does a comical run up to him to tell him something. Then runs back the same way to take care of something. Dumbledore then announces the schools and each has a dance number entrance of sorts. The Beauxbaton ladies (They made the two schools one sex each rather than open like Hogwarts) do a wilting sweet number with pixie dust and butterflies. Then the Durmstrang students enter doing a percussive stomp number with “spark sticks”.

After the greetings the feast begins. We see Snape and Karkaroff sharing a knowing look as if they have many things to discuss. As Dumbledore and Crouch get up to introduce the Goblet, Moody comes in the side door and as the ceiling emits a particularly nasty bit of lightning he spooks and sends a spell into it out of fear. He takes a nervous sip from his hip flask right away and Dumbledore introduces him. Then we get to the Goblet and its introduction. It is more a large steel goblet than the shabby wooden one described in the book.

The next scene is Karkaroff menacingly closing the doors of the great hall to be alone with the goblet. Throughout the film they do a good job of setting you up to think he is the baddie.

Next we jump to Moody’s class where he is introducing himself and then shows off the curses. Brendan Gleeson as Moody is awesome, especially when you realize for the most part his eye was a live effect on set, meaning it is mechanically controlled on set and not computer generated. He is unsettling and you realize why he is called mad right away.

When he starts to show the curses the feeling is light and funny as he engorges a nasty bug (not a spider, and he uses this same bug for all the curses not three different spiders) and then demonstrates the Imperius Charm. The mood shifts suddenly as he says, “Funny yes! What shall I make her do next eh? Tap dance? Climb up your leg?” To which everyone laughs as he makes it do so but then cuts the fun out by saying, “Or maybe drown herself” He moves it over a bucket of water and it visibly struggles to not go in the bucket. “Or perhaps jump out a window?” and he slams it into a piece of glass.

The class goes silent as they realize what this curse could do to someone. Moody then asks if anyone knows the next curse and the scene between him and Neville, which involves Crucio, happens almost exactly like it did in the book. Even down to Hermione yelling to stop because of how visibly upset it is making Neville. You even feel bad for the little bug. Particularly because Moody looks like he is enjoying the use of the spell a bit too much. Hinting at the fact that he isn’t really Moody…They do this several times in the film and even though in the book they never drop hints, they do drop several in the film. Barty Crouch Jr has a nervous twitch that Moody does a few times in the movie which is a give away if you look close enough.

Next we move to Avada Kedavra and the sound effect they use, while not like a rushing of wings, is VERY effective. You can almost hear something thumping the life out of the bug. We then cut to outside the class where Moody grabs Neville to have that cup of tea and then we move into the great hall.

The students drop their names in the goblet and we do get the Fred and George bit with the age line and beards. When Krum drops his name in he stares pointedly at Hermione and we can see the sparks already between them. Then Dumbledore and the other students come in and we get to the selection ceremony.

The names come out in a very cool way and the slips of paper are still smoking as Dumbledore grasps them. This scene plays out like the book with one exception. When Harry’s name is vomited out Dumbledore gets FURIOUS. Starting off saying Harry’s name softly then louder and louder until he screams it in a rage like we saw in the trailer.

Harry moves fearfully forward and we hear students murmuring how he must have cheated and how upset they are at him. Everyone looks upset except for Moody because if you know the twist at the end it is a look that shows happiness not concern.

We move to the room off the great hall and yet again we see how FURIOUS Dumbledore is as he rams Harry into a wall and screams into his face, “Did you do it?! Did you put your name in the goblet?!” This is a good time to point out again that I am not happy with how Albus is coming across in these films lately.

Moving on…They also set Snape up through this film to be a baddie even more so than the book did. Clearly this is to set things up for Book six and what happens there…We cut to Dumbledore’s office where he is leaning against the pensieve. The pensieve is not just a basin in the film, it’s a pedestal surrounded by aged mirrors that comes out of the wall (more on that later).

Dumbledore is talking with Minerva and Severus and Snape feels Harry should have to compete (setting him up as evil again) and Minerva says he shouldn’t. Dumbledore spends the scene acting frustrated then puts a thought into the pensieve. It’s Harry’s name on the piece of parchment that came out of the fire.

We cut to the boy’s room and the Harry/Ron tension begins with Ron accusing Harry like he did in the book.

Next we cut to the Owlery which is outside the school not in one of the towers. This reminds me, there is no mention of Pigwidgeon (Ron’s owl) in this film. Harry gets a letter from Sirius telling him to meet him at the common room fire.

The scene that follows is the broom cupboard with Rita happening like it did in the book except it ends when the interview ends. No Ollivander examining the wands.

After this we move back to the common room where Harry is waiting to hear from Sirius. He sees the Daily Prophet with Rita’s article, gets disgusted, and throws it into the fire. Sirius appears as Harry stares at the burning article and rather than a face floating in the fire, his face appears formed from the burning coals. Quite a cool effect really. The narration in the owlery of Sirius’ letter and this scene are the ONLY times he appears in the film. No sneaking into Hogsmeade or in the cave with Buckbeak.

Also this scene happens long before we even find out about the dragons so Harry never asks for help with the dragon. This dialogue between them is mainly to establish Karkaroff was a death eater and Harry can’t trust anyone in the school.

Ron comes in like he did in the book and they both go off to bed mad. There is a funny scene the next day with Hermione talking for the two of them since they won’t talk to each other. Then Hagrid takes Harry into the woods to see the dragons. They meet up with Madam Maxine and they flirt A LOT. The film makes them more interested in one another than they were in the book.

The bit with Karkaroff never happens though and as I said Charlie isn’t in this scene either although Hagrid mentions him.

Next scene is Harry warning Cedric about the dragons. We get to see the SUPPORT CEDRIC / POTTER STINKS badges and they are a cool visual. Harry then runs into Ron and they have a big row and Harry stalks off only to run into Malfoy. Then, THANK GOD, we get the Malfoy ferret scene as is happens in the book. After he is turned back into Malfoy Moody chases him off saying the line that Rita says in the book about Ludo Bagman to Hermione, referring instead to Lucius, “I could tell you things about your father that would make even your greasy hair curl boy!”

Moody takes Harry to his office where he gives him the “play to your strengths” speech like in the book. The chest in his office rattles with a deep screaming and anyone who knows the plot will know who is doing the screaming…

There is no rushed Accio practice, apparently Harry can do it already. We cut to the tent where Hermione talks to Harry through the tent wall then jumps through it to hug him for luck. Rita snaps a shot as she enters and Krum comes over to kick Rita out. Dumbledore comes in and they choose their miniature dragons like in the book. There is a funny bit with Filch and a cannon which becomes a running gag for the start of each of the tasks.

We cut right to Harry coming out of a cave into the enclosure. The dragon sequence is a bit more involved than in the book with the dragon getting free and chasing Harry through the woods, the Hogwarts grounds until it finally gets knocked out. Kinda cheesy and something that struck me as funny is that even after the dragon gets loose no one goes to check on Harry, they just sit there in the stands until he comes back and gets the egg. They don’t award points like they did in the book.

The egg is golden like in the book and it is covered in rune symbols all over its surface.

The common room sequence where Harry opens it to hear the screeching happens and then Ron and he make up like in the book. They make up here and not right after the task.

Next we cut to breakfast in the great hall. Harry looks over and sees Cho who smiles at him. He spits out the water like the clip from one of the trailers and turns away embarrassed. Ron gets a parcel which turns out to be his dress robes and runs off embarrassed as well. Dear lord are they ugly by the way.

Next we get a Gryffindor dancing lesson which plays up how much girls look forward to dances and the boys are worried and disgusted with al that “rubbish”.

I want to say here that the twins are MUCH more like the book versions in this film and they have quite a few funny moments in this scene and throughout the film. Neville is heart warming as he relentlessly is practicing for the dance.

There are a few scenes setting up the boys not having dates and Hermione saying she has one and Ron not believing her. There is also a study hall with Snape that while has some funny moments for Snape, it doesn’t feel right for his character. It is too slapsticky and just isn’t character appropriate. The bit with Fred asking Angelina to the ball is fun and verbatim from the book.

Harry then runs out to mail a letter and runs into Cho. He asks, she says she has a date, and he is heart broken. He gets back to the common room and several people come in carrying Ron who has just asked Fleur to the Ball. This dialogue is straight from the book for the most part but with some very funny additions.

The Patil twins pass by and Harry gets the idea to ask them. A little weird that both twins would be in the Gryffindor common room as only one of them is a Gryffindor but oh well.

We cut to the ball and Ron’s robes look more awful than you can imagine. Harry looks over and sees Cho in a stunning outfit. The Patil twin he is with turns around and seeing someone says, “Oh my, doesn’t she look beautiful?” Harry looking at Cho says, “Yes she does.” Then he looks over his shoulder where the Patil sister is looking and we see Hermione. She is the stunning Hermione that you pictured in the book and her dress is the stuff that most girls dream of wearing to a dance. Viktor takes her arm and they enter the great hall. It is transformed into the ice palace described in the book. Truly a magical place for a school dance.

The four champions start to dance and Harry’s “ability” to dance is quite funny. He is the shy awkward boy he was in the book. Next the Weird Sisters come in and start jamming like a band at any school dance you would go to today. They look at bit more grunge/glam rock band ala Iggy Pop meets David Bowe (ask your parents if you don’t know who they are) than the long haired punk band in the book. The camera pans over the students rocking out to find Harry and Ron sitting with their dates, all looking miserable.

Hermione comes over as the Patil twins go dancing with other boys and Ron accuses her like he did in the book. Emma Watson plays this scene INCREDIBLY well and you feel for her even more than you did in the book.

The scene changes and now there are only a few couples dancing as the night wears down. There is no scene where we see Hagrid telling Maxime about his giant blood and her storming off. This happens later in the movie but she never gets upset or admits she is a half-giant as well. Also now is a good time to mention that the whole side plot of Rita being an animagus is not in the film either.

We then move to Ron chasing after Hermione as she says goodnight to Viktor. They have their fight in the entrance hall instead of the common room and once again you feel SO bad for Hermione as she goes from a girl who is making Ron jealous to a girl who just had the most perfect night of her life devastated and ruined. HEARTBREAKING.

Next scene we see Harry leaving a classroom and Cedric telling him to take a bath. The entire scene with Myrtle and Harry in the bath is in the movie and it is one of the funniest in the film with Myrtle getting a little too close for comfort to a bathing Harry…

Myrtle mentions she saw something that looked like polyjuice potion in the pipes recently which sets up the end of the film and isn’t in the book. He figures out the clue like he does in the book by opening the egg underwater.

The singing sounds like a lilting Gaelic hymn and is actually quite beautiful.

There is no scene with Harry seeing Barty Crouch in Snape’s office as Mr. Crouch never goes off sick or missing in this film. Also, there is no scene with Harry getting stuck in the stair and Moody getting the Marauder’s Map. The map doesn’t appear in this film at all.

Next we cut to the trio searching in the library for something to help Harry breathe underwater. Moody comes in and gets Ron and Hermione and tells them to go to Dumbledore’s office (So he can put them in the lake) and then Moody asks Harry if he has figured out the clue. When he realizes Harry hasn’t, he yells for Neville to come over and help Harry “put the books away”. Neville ends up telling Harry about gillyweed since Dobby isn’t in the film.

We cut to everyone going to the lake and Neville gives Harry the gillyweed. The underwater sequence is pretty close to the books except that instead of a “Mer-village” the merpeople live in crumbling underwater ruins. Think arches underwater.

The sleeping people look fake sad to say, but maybe I was being too critical. The bubble charms, shark transfiguration all look cool and Harry’s gillyweed “side effects” look great. The grindylows do attack Harry but after he has freed Ron and Gabriel Delacour. Pretty scary little moment with good computer graphics. They are more like nasty looking squid monsters than how they are described in the book.

The moment where Fleur thanks Harry and then Ron is hysterical like it was in the book.

Right after they get back on land Crouch talks to Harry about family and how important it is and how it is good to mourn lost loved ones. Kind of a weird moment that feels like they put it in for a reason but it doesn’t work… Moody and Crouch have a moment where Crouch realizes Moody is possibly his son in disguise as he recognizes the twitch I mentioned earlier. Crouch rushes off and Moody gets an evil glint in his eye.

Next scene we are walking with the trio and Hagrid through the forest. They start singing the Hogwarts song (Hogwarts Hogwarts hoggy hoggy….etc) when Harry stumbles onto the body of Barty Crouch. This means there is no scene with him and Krum finding the insane Crouch AND in the film they never really reveal who killed Crouch…

Cut right to Harry going to Dumbledore’s office and hearing him arguing with Fudge and Moody. They leave and Harry gets attacked by some of Dumbledore’s candy. You’ll get what I mean when you see it. As he tries to clean the office up he steps on a switch in the floor and the wall behind him opens to reveal the pensieve.

As I said it is more a mirrored fountain than a stone basin like in the book. Harry looks into it and then falls into the court room. There is only one trial that we get to see in the film and that is Kakaroff’s. There is no chair with gold chains but rather the Spanish Inquisition looking device with the spikes holding the person in.

The scene plays like it did in the book with one big difference. When asked if he has anymore names Karkaroff says yes and confesses he knows who tortured the Longbottom’s. He accuses Barty Crouch Jr. and then Jr. freaks and tries to get away. He gets caught and then the whole, “I have no son!” thing happens. However they never setup that Jr. might be innocent. You KNOW he is guilty so they never try to make you think anything else. I suspect this is due to the omission of Winky and also setting up the time it would take to show that back story. SO this means there is no trial where we see the Lestrange’s and also they kind of breeze over the bit about Neville’s parents and that doesn’t get explained well.

Harry then comes back out of the pensieve and he and Dumbledore have a talk. Again this scene is weird because it is played in a way that just doesn’t feel like you are watching the Dumbledore from the books.

As he is leaving the office he passes by a storage room where Karkaroff is showing Snape his dark mark tattoo on his arm which we see. It is actually a great look for the dark mark.

They see Harry and Karkaroff leaves but Snape calls Harry back. He confronts him about missing items that could be used for making polyjuice and threatens Harry with using Veritaserum on Harry.

The scene ends and then Harry goes to bed where he has a dream that Voldemort tries to kill him the same way he killed Frank Bryce. Harry wakes up, calms down and then goes back to bed. Next we move onto the maze.

Now let me say that there are no creatures in the maze whatsoever but they did an ok job of still making it interesting. Sadly this means no blast ended skrewts anywhere in the film….

This maze is a living thing which plays on your fears and enhances them. Yes, this sounds a little “dementorish” but still the way they do the maze is cool. As soon as they walk into the maze the hedges close behind them and there is an eerie stillness and quiet. The maze is HUGE and constantly changing almost entombing the champions if they linger.

We see Viktor attack Fleur while under the Imperius curse and almost getting Cedric. Harry knocks Krum out and then he and Cedric start racing towards the cup. The maze attacks them (sorry no spider) and Harry gets away but the vines start pulling Cedric into the ground. Harry helps him and then the maze start to close in around them. They rush to the cup and grab it at the same time and then BAM land in the grave yard.

I’m going to pause here to say that the following scene is the most intense in the movie and is CLEARLY why it was given a PG-13. I would even go so far as to say it pushed PG-13. Not into R territory but the death, cutting off the arm, and rebirth of Voldemort are pretty graphic. That said here is a run down of the scene.

Harry and Cedric look around trying to figure out what is going on and where they are as we notice the tombstone and cauldron in the distance... Just as Harry recognizes the Riddle’s family tombstone, Wormtail comes out of a nearby tomb clutching something in his arms…

Your heart seizes in your chest as you dread knowing what will happen next and your mind screams, “Run Cedric!” Harry screams in pain clutching his scar and starts yelling, “Get back to the cup! Get back to the cup!” Cedric doesn’t understand and tries to help Harry. Neither of them sees Wormtail getting closer and you hear Voldemort cry, “Kill the spare!” You know what happens here….

Wormtail grabs Harry and throws him against the tombstone, magics the angel of death to grab onto Harry and hold him in place. He then goes to the cauldron and we see Voldemort as he drops him into the goo in the cauldron. This was the Voldemort we saw in the preview, you still haven’t seen what he looks like resurrected…

They use the spell from the book verbatim and when Wormtail cuts off his arm they don’t show it but the sound effect and Harry’s reaction make you cringe.

The rebirth is so intense and visually stunning that I won’t ruin it for you here and you will be glad I don’t when you see it. Suffice it to say they NAIL Voldemort and you should have no doubt about them choosing the PERFECT man to play Voldemort…Ralph Fiennes captures the evil psycho so perfectly that you will be afraid of him. The makeup is simple yet VERY effective and you will love it as it sticks close to the books description.

He summons the death eaters (and this effect is awesome too) and as he pulls off each of their masks to confront them the masks churn into smoke and scream as they dissipate off. He has the dialogue with Lucius that was in the book and then Voldemort gives Wormtail his new silver hand.

Then he turns back to Harry. The dual between them is amazing and happens just like the book says. When Harry grabs the cup and they leave Voldemort is enraged. BAM!

They land back at the entrance to the maze and Cedric lands with his eyes open in a dead stare. It takes a few minutes for everyone to realize what is going on and Mr. Diggory is heart wrenching as he discovers what has happened…

Moody grabs Harry and pulls him away into his office. As he gets Harry to tell him what happened he starts to show signs of the polyjuice wearing off and begins to frantically search for more. Harry begins to notice something is off but doesn’t figure it out until it is too late.

Just as Moody is about to attack Harry, Dumbledore and Snape burst in. Again Dumbledore goes too mad and screams for Snape to make Moody drink the veritaserum. He then screams, “Are you the real Alastor Moody?!”

The polyjuice potion wears off and rather than the “bubbly skin” of movie two we get an almost skin melting PG-13 worthy transformation.

The scene plays a little different than that book since there is: 1) no house elf, 2) no escape from Azkaban to explain and 3) He doesn’t fess up to killing his father.

They open the chest and rather than there being several chests inside there is just one big deep shaft that the real Moody is in.

They leave Jr with Snape and they added an interesting look between the two of them here that makes you suspect Snape.

The entire scene in Dumbledore’s office and the hospital wing are not in the movie…It jumps right to the “Remember Cedric Diggory” Speech that Dumbledore gives.

I was bothered because we don’t get the speech from Dumbledore to Harry in Dumbledore’s office OR find out that the dementor sucked out Jr’s soul among other things.

After the “Remember Cedric” speech we find Harry packing his chest to leave and Dumbledore comes in to talk to him. This is where the, “Difficult times lie ahead Harry” and “Choose what is easy and what is right” lines are said. The “look of triumph” in Dumbledore’s eyes that everyone who has read the book will be looking for is surprisingly missing as is Harry saying Voldemort can touch him now.

Then we are given this weird happy moment that feels out of place amongst all this sadness. Everyone seems happy the next second as they say good bye to the Durmstrang and Beauxbaton students. Just not edited well and you think, “Why are they happy all of a sudden?!”

Next scene the trio has a moment where Hermione says her, “Everything is going to change isn’t it?” line to which Harry responds, “Yes, it is.” The camera pans out over them and the last shot of the film is of the ship sinking back into the lake and the carriage flying off into the sky...

The credits are written on pieces of burnt parchment flying out of the goblet.

No ho entenc. On la pot haver vist? Per cert, per l'emule hans sortit videos de 700 MB amb el títol de HP4. No sé si serà de veritat (ho dubto), però me la baixaré, per si de cas... :P

De fet, jo tampoc me l'he llegit. Ja us ho he dit.

prefereixo troibar-m'ho al cine i, després, llegir això per a veure què es deixen o què s'inventen. XD

l'¡he psoat per si algú estava interesat. ^^ Jo m'he lelgit la priemra frase i l'última. ^^

Ara vaig a llegir-me la ultima... i a esperar la pel·lícula!
